The Smartfilter software installed on the SMCPS proxy server is used to block sites that are adult oriented and/or not consistent with the purpose of the St. Mary's County Public Schools' network usage standards. The Control List is updated daily in order to maintain a current listing of those sites. Other sites not meeting the criteria of the Control List can be added if you feel it is necessary. Likewise, if you feel a site that is being blocked by the Control List should not be, it can be removed from the list.
